As sole planning consultant on behalf of the NI Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA), JUNO has worked comprehensively on plans for development and redevelopment opportunties for test centres and operational depots across all 11 council areas within NI. As a result, JUNO has remained committed to making representations on behalf of DVA to councils relating to the formulation of new Local Development Plans. JUNO were successful in securing planning permission for a new £16 million test centre and operational depot on a former brownfield site at Hospital Road, Hydebank, Belfast. This involved extensive preliminary research, pre-application discussions with the wider design team and Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, pre-application community consultation, and commitment to post-approval planning monitoring. In addition, JUNO are currently working towards securing planning permission for a new DVA Test Centre facility and associated infrastructure at Mallusk, Newtownabbey. This has included extensive preliminary research, pre-application discussions with the wider design team and Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council, pre-application community consultation, and further discussions with the Council and statutory consultees.
