In advance of the £30 million malt whiskey distillery application, JUNO secured hazardous substance consent (HSC) for storage of 76,000 tonnes of hazardous substances involved in production of whiskey. Environmental considerations were significant – including proximity to River Bush, Sites of Local  Nature Conservation Interest (SLNCI), Areas of Special Scientific Interest (ASSI) and Special Areas of Conservation (SAC).
